Our repairs come with a three month warranty on our own house call (or workshop fee) and labour. All spare parts that we provide (being new parts through our suppliers) come with a 12 month warranty.

Independent Appliance Care was formed when Independent Appliances and Capital Appliance Care merged in 2005.The owners and directors, Les and Heather Morrison, work full time in the business.Our workshop is in Cornish Street, Petone, where we hold all our parts and undertake our servicing.We are proud to employ excellent staff, who are committed to providing the highest possible customer service.

Didn't show up the first time they said they would come. The second time they came, did nothing and charged us for a service they never performed. When we complained they said they would remove the charge and send someone to actually do the work. They did neither. $120 out of pocket and the dryer is still broken.

I wish I had read these comments before engaging the business' services. Worst service ever! Got them to look at my washing machine. After inspection they recommended a new controller and drain pump - estimated costs $580. Didn't believe them, so after some research I learned how to reset the control board. Did it, and since then worked with no issues. Went back to the company to ask why they didn't detect it. No explanation, no apology and they stopped communicating after the first chat we had. Never ever again! And I will definitely read reviews of companies before I start wasting time and money on them. Chris

I usually never leave comments on website like this but today I felt I really needed to. I am a mum of 2 who lives in Days Bay. The customer service I received from Appliance Care has been quite frankly appauling. They were supposed to repair my fridge on a Friday between 3 & 5pm. I called their receptionnist at 4pm asking if the technician was still coming. She replied that he was with an unfriendly tone (she might have had a bad day...ok), 4.45pm still no one so I rang the receptionnist again. Still short and unfriendly, she assured me the technician was on his way. I never saw him. No one got in touch with me. On the Monday morning, I have to ring them back...ie no one from their team takes the initiative to call and apologize, then I speak to the "lovely" receptionist again. She doesnt apologise either saying that the technician ran out of time. To what I say "what about having the decency to ring"? The reply I got from her and her manager (yes I did speak to the manager too) was "our technician tried to ring but you didnt answer" ... I mean really? Is this the best you can come up with? What about leaving a message? What about apologising at least ... And what about trying to fix the situation. The behaviour of the staff at Appliance care was just appauling. Zero sense of customer service and no desire at all to fix things up. Good luck with them if you choose to use them, I hope you get a better experience than mine, Cathy

I had to take the afternoon off work to get home in time to meet the appointment I had made with this business. It was inconvenient and tricky. But they didn't even show up! They seem disorganised and unreliable.
