Tokoroa and Districts Veterinary Services was established as a vet club in 1956 and became a private contract practice in 1974.
We have been serving the public of the South Waikato, Whakamaru and Taupo regions for the past fifty years.
We also have branches in Taupo and Whakamaru.
The Tokoroa branch is a fully equipped NZVA Best Practice-accredited small animal and large animal clinic. It provides a base for equine and production animal vets. Easily recognisable, our Tokoroa 'Vetbase' features an impressive mural designed by Lyn Gilbert-Radford in 2001.
Inside you will find other interesting artworks and murals by our very talented vet nurse Kimberley Wellings and local artist Zelda Paul.
The extensive small animal hospital features heated enclosures to ensure the comfort of patients. Our team is proud to be Best Practice accredited meaning you can be assured of consistent quality standards of care. Radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, and surgical facilities are all available on site.
Tokoroa supports a highly productive dairy centre. As more forestry land is being returned to dairy farming, our dairy base continues to grow. From compact 150 cow herds to 1000 cow herds, we see it all and tailor our service to your needs.
Our production animal clients value our personalised and production-focussed service. Training and seminars for farm staff and managers on calf-rearing, mineral supplementation, spring health, and lame cows are all available at your request.
From Facial Eczema spore-count information prepared on site to fecal-egg counts and drench tests prepared in our on-site lab, we can tailor Animal Health Programmes to suit your farm.
