28th July 2011 Poor communication and customer service at the livestock sale for calves today. Example of this was instead of politely informing the customer that they were late they were quite rude and more intent on getting to there lunch break - eg. one of the customers was a man who was newly arrived from Ireland and not only were they rude about him arriving late but they were also not listening to him properly as he had an accent so he had to repeat himself several times. The communication was also not clear for customers to bring there calves into the sale at a certain time, there was no time advertised in the newspaper, only a sign with the time when you actually got to the sale which was totally unhelpful. It would be mindful of staff to remind themselves that they are employed to provide good customer service and that they are not being put out, that this is there job. If they can't do that then further training should be considered on how to serve customers with respect and satisfaction achieved by both parties.
