Sunnydene is a school for students with intellectual disabilities. The students range in age from 5 to 21 years.
The base school is on Smallfield avenue, next to the lovely Robinson reserve in three kings. Seven out of ten of the school's classes are satellite classes in other local schools.
Sunnydene Special School hours are 9:00 till 3pm, but because of the arrival of taxis and taxi vans to transport the students to and from school, most students arrive between 8:30 and 9:00am and leave between 2:30 and 3:00pm.
Sunnydene Special School holidays are the same as for regular primary schools. There is a holiday programme based at Sunnydene Special School which runs for periods during each of the school holidays. Sunnydene Special School is a state-funded school.
Sunnydene Special School enrollment requires a section 9 agreement with the ministry of education (applied for by the school).
