Papakura Joinery Limited began machining timber mouldings in the late 1980's. The machining operation has grown to one of the largest in the country with three machines covering a range machining options, from long runs of weatherboards, tounge and groove flooring and sarking through to skirtings, architraves, skotias and custom one off profiles.


Modern high speed machinery is augmented by an in-house tool sharpening and knife manufacturing facility. An extensive inventory of knives is well maintained so that most profiles and shapes can be machined to tight deadlines.The company is also a specialist in the manufacture of one off profiles.

Windows


Papakura Joinery manufactures a full range of windows including casment, double hung, sliding and bifolding.


Sliding windows have excellent resilience to wind gusts and can be constructed to slide either laterally or vertically. For double hung windows, Papakura Joinery Limited recommends the use of counter weights over tensioned springs, and incorporate seals to reduce drafts and prevent the sashs from rattling.

Papakura Joinery make sure that our joinery leaves our factory in the best possible condition. Wood is a natural fibrous material subject to movement, especially when subject to heat and humidity. All painted jobs have the first coat applied - an all purpose primer undercoat is used. Within one month subsequent top coats should be applied - we strongly discourage the use of dark shades of paint, which heat up timber and distort joinery. All four edges also need to be painted to avoid water penetration. If the choice is to stain or oil your joinery, we will apply the first coat before leaving factory.
