18th February 2014 I have never experienced such disgusting customer service in my life. I took my car for a WOF and it needed a few things repaired. They quoted me to fix it and I decided to get a second opinion. Based on the price and the advice at the other mechanic shop, I decided to get it fixed there. When I returned with a fixed car, they checked everything then checked the odometer for a reading. The mechanic pushed the button really hard and fast and then it turned off. He said it isn't working so they wouldn't give me a warrant. After that, I rang the other mechanic and was informed they can not fail a WOF on an odometer and emailed the legislation to me. I went back the next day and told the guy that he couldn't fail me. He argued and refused to pass it. I rang the NZTA and had to bring my husband back to the shop to get them to either refund me or give me my WOF. Even after asking them to ring and confirm they refused so we had to refuse to leave and ring the NZTA while in the mechanic shop. It wasn't until I started to lay a complaint on the phone in front of them that they decided they could give me a WOF. Absolutely the most disgusting service I have ever encountered and the NZTA will be investigating. They were rude, arrogant and nasty throughout the whole process.
