24th August 2010 This is my favourite Japanese Restaurant as the food is delicious and reasonably priced.We normally order salmon tataki,chicken miso cutlet,agedashi tofu,salmon avocado spring roll,seaweed salad. The food is served quickly and it is a family friendly restaurant.
29th July 2011 I've driven past Nishiki so many times and not realised its there. Tucked away in a block of shops at the bottom on Wellington it is a real find. The food is great from the expected sushi and sashimi to more interesting Japanese dishes. You need to book though - it gets pretty busy

24th January 2011 Great restuarant. Ate here last Thursday with 5 of us and went well. Food great, Sake nice. Only thing this time (been here lots before) is it seemed to take sometime in bringing the dishes out - things that usually only take 5 mins were coming 15 mins later but other than that great place.

11th September 2010 The place to go for great Japanese food and beer. Everythings brought to your table at an amazing pace and with friendly service. Go with some friends and share from the wide range of dishes, some which are new variations on traditional Japanese classics. It's always busy when we try and get in.

8th September 2010 I love this place! I went with a huge group for a friend's birthday dinner and everything ran smoothly. The food that came out was fresh and delicious and there was something to cater for the taste of all at the table.
The set menu charge was reasonable, service was quick and efficient, a very good experience overall.

31st August 2010 The food at Nishiki was yummy and quite a different take on Japanese from what I'm used to. It was a really fun way to eat with a group - sharing small plates of food rather than ordering for yourself. To give them the benefit of the doubt we may have come on a bad night, but unfortuantely I had to go up to the counter 3 times (!) to ask for our order to be taken... they seemed to keep forgetting about us. The restaurant wasn't full so perhaps they were short staffed? Anyway, still a good meal out, but I'm not raving about it.

18th August 2010 I went there with my friends. It was excellent as we have lovely time and delicious meal.
Worker are friendly and kind.
However you need to book for the restaurant... it gets really busy.

14th July 2010 This is fun little place where you can have little bits of everything. The comprehensive menu with photos is great and the food is really good. Also has got extensive selection of drink - a perfect place to go when it's cold and raining outside for a cup of sake with warm skewers. You have to book in advance for weekend dinner.

13th July 2010 Superb spot for a low-key, high-quality Japanese feed in a cool relaxed setting. Plenty of seating in different areas; recommend sitting at the bar by the kitchen and watching the masters at work. The great staff and BYO are the icing on the cake.

11th September 2007 Fantastic Japanese BBQ style restaurant. BYO wine, and very vey good value servings from $4 to $10 per item. Each plate has around 5 items and you can taste a huge range of delicious items between you. Thouroughly recommend.
