12th January 2007 This was an expensive visit as we had to join a bus & drive quite a distance to get to the location. The driver was informative and obviously relieved that the movie company prohibits guides from being dressed as hobbits or trolls and told us interesting stories about how the area was chosen for the film location. The scenery is wonderful and the information panels enable you to relate the location to the relevant scenes in the movie. Obviously not for anyone who didn't see or enjoy the movies. Pity the hobbit homes couldn't have retained some of their 'make-up' but the initial reaction on seeing all the little hobbit homes on the hillside was pretty good. Recommended for LotR buffs.
