More than 300 volunteers gave up a few hours of their time over the Easter weekend to paint over thousands of tags throughout the suburb of Manurewa in South Auckland.
LifeChurch Manurewa initiated the Paint Out Day project, which got members of the community, other churches and council officials together to paint over graffiti and clear up rubbish in the suburb on March 22.
LifeChurch pastor, Lui Ponifasio said although it was hard work it was a lot of fun. Mr Ponifasio said it was encouraging to see many young people and a number of non-Christians getting involved in the project. More from this article can be found on the front page in issue 11 of Challenge Weekly
