Bad experience. Table of 4 for dinner Friday night. Out of the 4 meals, one almost inedible and two others really bad. Have eaten at this restaurant before and always been happy with food and service. This episode of 3 bad meals tends to indicate that they have problems. Compensation consisted of vouchers for a free dessert when we paid the bill, but they were buy a dessert to get a free dessert. On this evening there was no comparison to what we are used to get here and we will avoid in future.

We were visiting Auckland, and I wanted to go out for my birthday. We settled on Bricklane. The service was fantastic, and the food absolutely devine! Finally, someone who knows how to cook a steak!

I visited this restaurant on a Thursday night and had the best service I have experienced in a long while in any restaurant. I was greeted at the entrance and the service staff were friendly, professional check on us and our food, and took the right amount of time between visits to our table. The environment felt very much like a grill although it isn't really. It's the sort of place that I would take my Dad for Father's Day. We got value for money for our food, big portion sizes to the point that we couldn't finish (particularly the Pavlova). The only downside was my main dish (fish of the day) was dry, both the fish and potatoes. Still, I would go here again (probably next Father's Day) and give the food another shot. The staff were very interested in our feedback so I'm sure they are looking to improve the food and they made it a good dining experience.

I love Bricklane, whenever I get the opportunity to eat out locally, that's my first choice. Every visit, whether with family or friends, I am rarely disappointed. Staff are attentive, if they are busy, you simply draw their attention - no inconvenience to them, problem solved. They collectively give this place the thumbs up for me, everything else falls into place, the food rocks (thanks to an awesome chef!), I wouldn't hesitate recommending this place for families, friends - its relaxed, cosy and intimate.

I've been to Bricklane twice before for the great lunch meals. Me and my family love dining out trying different restaurants to experience fine cuisine, and just a nice home cooked meal. I have to give Bricklane a satisfying "5" as this third time for dinner was a divine experience, the staff were great with meeting our needs, (we had no booking)it was busy, but they put me and my partner in a nice private located area. Meals (entrees and main) were givin at reasonable times, and both meals were heaven! Compliments to the Chef for that scrumptous seafood chowder that filled the pallet before the main :) oh and the main! compared to many other restaurants, theres just no comparism!

The food has been good every time I've been, the service was a bit hit & miss, and the live music on a Sunday afternoon is lovely. The portions are generous and yum! The staff were also really accommodating of my toddler, bringing her meal out promptly before the rest of ours which was perfect. I'd go there again.

The meals were really generous in size. We had a steak and a fish of the day. Both were cooked beautifully. The salt and pepper squid as an entree was more-ish! The staff were friendly and provided good service overall, although we had five people attend to us through the evening which was a bit unsettling. If you're hungry and you live near by though - go for it, you wont be disappointed!

A regular haunt. The prices are quite high but their Early Bird dinner at $15 is a fantastic bargain (5-6 Mondays to Thursdays). Great duck (not part of the $15 deal) but be prepared for a long wait - it's worth it. When we complained once about the slow service they gave us vouchers for free desserts next visit. That's what I call great customer service and the desserts are great too

We love the BRicklane. Each time we go there for dinner the service is friendly and approachable and the food is just great. Big porions, hearty and just the right amount of fancy without being stuck up. Last time I had the Chicken breats and hubby had the lamb shanks- both were cooked perfectly. The atmospehere is great (in winter-make sure to ask if any table near the fire place is available).

I found a voucher online for this restaurant ... I didnt have access to a printer so I carted my laptop into the restaurant to prove that I was worthy. The customer service was excellent warm and friendly she asked me to e-mail the voucher to her when I got home the setting was lovely mood lighting brick interior and a roasting fireplace the menu was creative and appealing it catered for everyone... my entree consisted of coconut and pumpkin wontons my main a healthy portion of perfectly cooked duck on a bed of crispy potatoes and blanched beans in a mandarin juss finished off with a large portion of gourmet ice cream. The timing of the dishes was fantastic and the whole scene was pleasant I plan to make this my local.

A very comfortable and warm restaurant with excellent service and good parking. However - the over-riding reason for repeat visits is the live music on Thursday evenings. It was worth a visit simply to hear a really lovely and talented band. The way they played to the "birthday" tables and their music - truly magic.
