Westgate Shopping Centre
Westgate Shopping Centre is the thriving retail, commercial and entertainment hub of Waitakere City situated on Auckland's North West corridor. This large open format shopping centre is the place to shop for a broad mix of retail, outlet shopping and leisure attractions. This includes Skycity Cinema and national retailers such as the Warehouse, Farmers, Dick Smith and Noel Leemings.
Westgate Shopping Centre is located in Massey, an established suburb approximately 14 km or 15 minutes drive north west of Downtown Auckland. It is at the intersection of the North-Western Motorway and Hobsonville Rd, a major arterial route.
The existing centre, made up predominantly of single level retail outlets with associated car parking, was built in 1998, with additions completed in 2006. Continued leasing interest in the complex means that a range of further additions and mainstreet re-developments have been ongoing since that time.
Westgate's excellent motorway access means that the centre attracts shoppers from outside its immediate catchment. It also benefits from the number of feeder roads linking to the North-Western Motorway.
