Good government occurs when the best of politics and management combine. Simon Baddeley, Institute of Local Government Studies from the University of Brimingham, UK is facilitating a one-day workshop for Chief Executives, managers and senior staff from local government to help enhance their skills in leading in a political environment. The workshop will build a deeper understanding of how the roles of political and managerial leaders are changing and how this will apply in your council.
RMA Planning Technicians Training
17-18 November, Wellington
This two day training course provides comprehensive training for consent or plan change administrators, planning technicians, committee advisors, RMA team leaders and managers. This year(TM)s course include new content from the Resource Management (Streamlining and Simplifying) Amendment Bill 2009. It also provides an exceptional opportunity for staff to expand their professional networks.
Who(TM)s Afraid of the RMA?

This one-day training course is designed to meet the needs of anyone wanting a basic understanding of the RMA. Non-planning staff and elected members will find this course essential in their understanding of the local government environment. The course will include the historical background of the RMA, RMA processes and how the RMA relates to other legislations.
