About Axis Intermodal
Created in 1998 as a specialist container handling and terminal operating company, Axis Intermodal is dedicated to meeting its containerline customer needs in the new era of mega containerships.

As containerisation increases internationally larger, faster containerships are making fewer port calls to maintain their fixed schedules. While spending less time in port, their container exchanges are larger because cargo is consolidated at the designated hub port or terminal. Efficient hubbing relies on streamlined intermodal transfers.

What's In A Name
'Axis' represents precision, accuracy and movement as well as focus and strength. It captures the concept of hubbing. An 'Intermodal' exchange involves the movement of cargo between different modes of transport eg, from ship to wharf to road and/or rail.
