Explore our region's heritage at the South Canterbury Museum. From fossils to fashions, there are hundreds of fascinating things to see, including a replica of Richard Pearse's aircraft which flew before the Wright Brothers.

Our Heritage Education Service provides hands-on programmes for schools both in the Museum and at local heritage sites and other museums in the region.

Our archives research area provides access to a wide range of documents, images and information sources.

Usual hours Tuesday - Friday 10am-4.30pm, weekends and most public holidays 1:30 - 4:30pm, normally closed on Mondays
