20th September 2010 Went to Olive on Saturday night for my boyfriends birthday- had been there once before for dinner, and was impressed with the food, but it was a bit bland.
We decided to go to Olive this time because it seemed a lot more quiet and intimate than some other places, and the atmosphere is always great.
This time the food was amazing! We ordered the risotto of the day, and chicken with potatoes- the flavours were all very interesting and quite strong- but everything complimented each other. The cheeses used in the dishes were just right. Wine was great, service was great, and the prices aren't bad at all.
Will definitely be going back sometime soon :)
PS. The new posters on the walls, and all the other art really enhances the atmosphere- very interesting to look at!
5th April 2011 We chose Olive Cafe as it was quieter than other Cuba St venues. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had the pork belly which was great, although could have had more vegetables -only came with mashed potato & cabbage, both of which were good. My wife had the fish which was cooked nicely but a bit bland - not very interesting. Prices were reasonable.

6th July 2010 Out of all the cafes along Cuba Street, this is definitely in my top 3. Great vibes, friendly staff, and they have a yummy vegetarian breakfast. When I first went there, I they gave me a free hash brown to try.

14th December 2009 Went to Olive in Cuba Street over the weekend. It was a very calming experience based on some of the restaurants we entered then exited quickly due to numerous Christmas parties occurring.
The food was basic but full of flavour especially the beetroot humus that came with the breads, outstanding! It's definitely a place where you can relax, enjoy a nice dinner, hear each other talk and leave feeling contented.
