8th September 2010 Parade Cafe has moved across the road from it's funky old building (demolished Jul 2010 to make way for more apartments). It is now at the old Tugboat on the Bay site - Fryberg Lagoon next to the swimming pool. Should reopen Sept 2010. I hope the menu is as yummy as before :)
13th November 2011 So, not sure whether to place a review on here or not, since this seems to be the page for the "old" restaurant. Perhaps Parade should get with this century and get their own page. Anyways went here for a birthday dinner with my parents, started out great even a good choice of vegetarian meals for my daughter (if you class roast vegetable salad and other green salads as ACTUAL meals). First boo-boo, she chose the Falafel with Haloumi which disaapointingly arrived with no Haloumi. Other meals okay but then we waited for at least 30 minutes before we were offered dessert menus. And after ordering were informed that actually one option was sold out already. It wasnt just us either. Tables nearby had problems too, someone ordered a curry not sure if they wanted the fish or the chicken, but which ever they got the opposite to what they had ordered. Another ordered the "warmed" brownie for dessert which was cold and the waitress looked most put out when asked to take it away to be heated. The fourth table also endured the 30 minute wait for dessert menus with us

9th September 2011 Nice place for a coffee. I ordered pancakes with bacon and banana and the pancakes were a bit dry and could have done with more maple syrup. Service was very prompt, the food came out within about 7 minutes.

29th November 2010 We ate in the new site of the Parade Cafe, which is now housed in a tug boat beside the Freyberg Swimming Pool. I hadn't visited the old version so I couldn't compare to the new one but we had an enjoyable visit. My sister and I each had a chicken and cranberry panini with some delicious wedges, while my nephew enjoyed the kiddy pancakes with bacon and banana. We found the service prompt and cheerful and there was plenty of seating space for a busy Saturday lunchtime. Only disappointment was that the smoothies were no longer on the menu!

6th September 2010 Great for coffee and cakes. I found the menu items a bit stogy (the chicken pasta was a giant yellow blob of chicken, cream and cheese - even my larger partner couldn't stomach it) but it is a good haunt for people-watching over coffee.
