I can't speak for their Car Insurance but DO NOT go anywhere near the Optimum Mechanical Insurance Product. I have one and it cover and service is very poor. I implore anyone thinking of taking out this policy to look around at reviews and forums before you do. Lots of good reviews of how easy it is to get a policy but very few on successful claims. Read the terms very carefully as there is little or anything at all that they cover. Then the things you would expect them to cover from what you read, take it from me they don't

We are very concerned to read about your dissatisfaction regarding your Optimum breakdown policy, and I would like to have the opportunity to review your claim if possible. Your Mechanical Breakdown Insurance policy provides cover for sudden and unforeseen mechanical or electrical failures and also includes failure by wear and tear of the parts covered by the insurance policy. Readers will be aware that insurance have certain exclusions, which mean certain events which lead to a claim may not be covered. For Mechanical Breakdown Insurance these include mechanical or electrical breakdown caused by non-factory modifications, corrosion, driver misuse, or claims where the evidence shows that the failure occurred prior to the start date of the insurance policy. Hi there, a friend told me he had excellent cover through PROTECTA Insurance, I phoned and signed up, I saved over half the amount I was paying for my current policy. I am very happy as this saving will now ofset the increased cost of registration on my bike. Great work Protecta, thanx regards Lance.
