A group of concerned parents and medical staff formed a small Auckland-based committee in 1978 to cater for the special needs of children with cancer and their families.
The Child Cancer Foundation Inc is now a national organisation with 4 divisions and 23 branches throughout New Zealand providing support for children and young people with cancer and their families, and the health professionals involved in their care.
20th May 2011 Could do a lot better. CCF didn't even retain enough funds to put on the very important Xmas party in Auckland last year. It was left to volunteers to run around and help. At the party the staff and CEO did not bother to show. The accounts show that CCF pay funds to businesses associated with board members and that staff salaries have increased even though revenue is way down. Good leadership would make a difference
