Mairangi Arts Centre is a vibrant and creative meeting place for artists and crafts-people. Situated at 20 Hastings Road in Mairangi Bay, it is the North Shore's largest art gallery and arts education school.
The Mairangi Arts Centre runs four term programmes of eight weeks each. These consist of daily and evening classes for adults, after school classes for children, as well as weekend workshops.
Classes vary from beginners to advanced and offer a variety of tutors to choose from. The after school art classes and school holiday programmes for children are extremely popular, great fun and well organised.
The facilities available include a large art gallery and Cafe, painting, sculpture, printmaking and pottery studios as well as spaces for private hire.
The changing, diverse exhibition programme brings the best in contemporary arts to a wide audience. Well known artists show work regularly. Annual exhibitions include the North Shore City Art Awards, MAC Students Show, Artspaces One and Two, Tutors Exhibition, Images of Architecture, Auckland Studio Potters, North Shore Libraries Schools Exhibition, Small Works as well as a regular guest artist's show.
Our many members benefit from a monthly newsletter, term and school holiday programmes, exhibition invites, and discounts on art supplies from numerous art supply stores.
The North Shore public is becoming more and more interested in art and art education and the Mairangi Arts Centre have grown from strength to strength. There is an increasing demand for international and local artists to share their knowledge and skills with the creative and vibrant North Shore community.
