Larcomb Vineyard was first planted in the early 1980s and is one of the oldest in Canterbury.
The vineyard is planted in Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Breidecker (Mller-Thurgau crossed with the hybrid grape Seibel 7053, which is peculiar to New Zealand). The estate(TM)s grapes are supplemented by Chardonnay purchased from a contract grower and bottled under the Larcomb label. The wines are made by Peter Gatehouse (see Gatehouse Wines).
Larcomb Vineyard now primarily operates as a venue for weddings.
