Te Aute College is the ancestral marae where great men of this Nation have been trained and given a chance to consider what their contribution to Aotearoa / New Zealand society, and the world, will be.
This marae was given by Te Whatuiapiti to Te Hahi Mihinare o Aoteaora, the Anglican Church of NZ, for the education of their sons, and those of other iwi, including the Pakeha, that they may grow up together in unity and in the Christian faith.
The Mana of Te Aute nurtures the student to discover his true identity and receive training which will fit him for leadership in our global society.
