25th December 2010 Attempted to have Christmas Day lunch at the Gothic. Having booked 6 weeks in advance and been promised a vegetarian option - we turned up to find this had been totally ignored. Despite re-confirming a couple of days before Christmas Day, and making clear vegetarian meant no meat and no fish, we were offered the turkey or the fish. The woman in charge (Joanne I think) was unbelievably rude and eventually grudgingly offered us pasta. She said the chef couldn't be expected to whip up a veggie option at no notice! We felt six weeks was plenty. Totally ruined our Christmas Day lunch and plans (we're on holiday here so no option to do our own thing) - we can cook pasta anytime but wanted a proper roast.
