Timaru Boys' High School's results in national examinations affirms our emphasis on quality academic achievement. In NCEA and scholarship examinations we consistently have students who achieve outstanding results.

GIFTED AND TALENTED ENRICHMENT PROGRAM (GATE)

Educational plans (GATE) are developed for students with special talents and abilities, either academic, cultural or sporting. Boys are encouraged to set goals and to plan, with staff and families, programmes which encourage them to extend their sense of satisfaction and achievement.

EDUCATION PROGRAMMES
For boys with additional learning needs, qualified teacher aides work with classes and individual students at the students' own pace, according to their special needs.

Remedial work in English and Mathematics is offered whenever appropriate and teacher aides work alongside students in classrooms. Boys with little or no English are given ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) specialist help.
