10th February 2010 Live locally and read in the local rag that new owners have taken over - thought I would pop in and see what the low down was. Met Wal the new owner and partner Jules - mid 30 couple who want to make the RAT rock. New menu in place that they are fine tuning. Live music will vary each week - they are listening to the bands and deciding which ones work and which ones won't - everything else as is - few maintenance issues that no doubt will get sorted so all in all looks like the RAT might once again become my local. Nice to see some life back in the place.
13th July 2010 Thought this was a great we local pub, we started a bus trip from here one night so me and a few mates thought we would go in early and have a meal there before heading out on the bus and the meal was great for the cost and the staff were really friendly

25th January 2008 Nice place, however lately the managment have decided to book the SAME band every week!! This is very frustrating as now alot of the locals are staying away. The band is 'not bad', but every Friday and Saturday is over the top. They were an OK band, but now they are a boring band!
