I used their services to transfer euros from France to dollars in my us bank account for an apt down payment. the transaction was very smooth and the staff very helpful and reactive. i definitely would recommend them.

I've used Currency Online just once, to transfer pounds from an UK bank account to an Italian euro account. Rates are acceptable actually: to make a comparison, they offered 1.18 while the best shops in London offered 1.20,1.19 (for cash exchange), plus I paid 7 pounds for the transfer. It was smooth, fast and even too easy (a single click means entering a contract, you won't be asked for any confirmation, so beware!), but at the end I got disappointed because I had to pay 24 EUR for fixed fees, since the bank they use to send money will charge them for transfers to Italy. The contract just mentions the chance that it could happen, but you won't know whether and how much you will pay until you receive the transfer. CO would have got 5 stars for me, providing that they let me know the exact amount of money to be paid before entering the contract.

Currency Online prides itself on offering a world leading online money transfer service. We also endeavour to be as transparent as possible in regards to fees that we charge for transfers, and we list our zero fee structure on our website for all clients to see. http://www.currencyonline.com/co/services_and_fees/zero_fees.asp The fees outlined by Mavv in the review dated 13/09/10 are fees charged by intermediary banks, not Currency Online, which unfortunately Currency Online has no control over. Fees vary depending on which bank it is and the relationship the client has with that bank, therefore Currency Online has no way of informing our client what fees these banks may charge. These fees charged by the intermediary banks are industry standard practice and would have been charged regardless of who the actual foreign exchange is transacted through, be this a private company like Currency Online, or a local bank. While it is unfortunate that some banks charge excessive transfer fees when disbursing funds, of which Currency Online has no control over, Currency Online continues to offer exceptional exchange rates and a convenient 24 hour online transfer system, which ensures our clients get the best all round deal on their foreign currency transfers. I have used this company many times over the past year. The company was referred to me by a friend and it has saved me thousands of dollars from using my bank. There rates are very competitive. It is also great when i am out of the country they are available to take my call and discuss my options 24hrs a day. Good to deal with a 20 year old NZ owned company. Highly recommend. Thanks Mathew
