I went there recently. Service good, Garlic bread (different and very nice definitely garlic bread), Fish and chips (fish slightly greasy) but that is better than being over done and the fish dried out, the fish was lovely, and the chips were great. When I ordered the pancakes I thought they would be little tiny things with little substance oh boy was I wrong, served on a large dinner plate with my own bottle of maple syrip Yumeeee! Needless to say I could hardly walk when I left I was well and truly full. Price all up about $27.00 from memory. A definite return at some time for me.

Possibly the worst food in all of Christchurch! Such a shame too as I believe there is only one 24-hour restaurant in Christchurch - this one! With a run, skip and hop across the road from the movies it would be so convenient if this restaurant was good, but unfortunately it wasn't very good on my last visit! I went there a while ago admittedly, last year in fact, and haven't been back since. But thought it was still worth writing a comment as I feel it's important to warn future customers. I used to go there many years ago (more or less straight after they launched the branch in Christchurch) on Friday and Saturday nights and it was great! The food was consistently good and reasonably priced. Then after returning to the city from a few years away overseas, it was instantly noticeable that the restaurant had really gone downhill in a BIG way! The food was very bland and not very fresh, almost tasteless. The menu still had food particles left on it from the service before. The waitress was ok but wasn't exactly full of life or seemingly happy to be there. I was particularly embarrassed as I had bought some of my overseas friends with me after initially telling them about the place! Everyone was noticeably disappointed. When I got up to pay and complained about my meal there was literally an argument at the counter about my perception of what I termed as being 'bad food', and they reluctantly applied a discount to my food bill. I have never been back since. I would really like to know if this place has improved since - if anyone feels to comment about their recent adventures to this restaurant I'd like to hear from you.

Definitely a good place to go after a night out but not my number one choice during the day. The burger meals are pretty big though for a not too bad price.

Dennys, The perfect place if you have the munchies in the late hours of the night or early hours of the morning. Its not top of the line food, and it can be overpriced for the quality you actually get. However when you are hungry and in need of a quick bite to eat then this is the place to go. Will see you this weekend Dennys

After a 6 hour drive from Queenstown, pulling into town at some unearthly hour of the early morning, your stomach is howling for food where else do you go? Denny's never fails to ... well, really, at 3am who cares. It's hot, it's food, it's not that bad, actually truth be told I'm partial to a solid dinner meal, with a strong coffee to wash it all down. I love the fact that you can get almost anything on the menu at all times of the day, there is something about eating Pancakes at 6pm and a full steak dinner at 5am. Great food for warming your empty belly

You know its been a good night out when you end up at denny's having breakfast whilst the sun comes up and you go home to sleep. I reccomend the lumber jack breakfast pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs great way to finish a night out. Good cheap diner food nothing flash but a good feed. And if its your birthday you get a free meal :)

Average food but great service. Make sure food is fully cooked or get something that they deep-fry so there is no threat of food poisoning. Awesome place to go after a night of drinking.

Reminds me of typical American 24hr dinner. ther Breakfasts and burgers and oreo milk shakes are good but thats about all i would reccomend. if you are drunk and heading home from town its fantastic but other wise the food is sloppy and cheap and alwasy greassey. the staff are nice though always great no matter what hour of the day

I went there recently. Service good, Garlic bread (different and very nice definitely garlic bread),
Fish and chips (fish slightly greasy) but that is better than being over done and the fish dried out, the fish was lovely, and the chips were great.
