Situated on the tranquil shores of Lake Te Anau, this quaint resort is the hub of Fiordland National Park, a world heritage region of scenic wonders, serenity and mystery. The Village Inn Hotel is situated within walking distance of the lake and the town centre and is adjacent to a local park (great for the kids!).

As tourists from the US, we found this hotel's website and were interested in possibly staying there. So we used their site enquiry link to see whether a room was available and for what price. After making our enquiry, they considered that we had booked a room. But when the form provided for making an enquiry is also the form used to making a booking, an unsuspecting person merely checking as to availability and price, winds up being charged for the room even though they may never acknowledge that they accept the room or the price. When we contacted them after the charge unexpectedly appeared, they were quite rigid, refusing to accept that there was a problem with their enquiry page nor giving us a refund based on the misunderstanding it caused. At 1 point, they said no one could reply for 3 weeks since the mgr. was on vacation. Even after that period, they did not respond. So, be warned that this hotel's management is apparently poor and unconcerned about customers.
