Performance is a natural part of the learning landscape at Southland Boys' and high expectations set the standard for high achievements.

From the traditional Activities of rugby * cricket * rowing * acting * singing * debating to the more contemporary disciplines of
cycling * motocross * dance * kapa haka * musical theatre * Shakespeare Festivals and catering, Southland Boys get involved.

The desire of students to represent their school is evident in the high levels of participation in teams and competitions. The school continues to build on the longstanding and dual traditions of excellence and participation. On the sideline in the Blue Army or in the team, SBHS boys support each other with pride.

Hostel

Coldstream House is Southland Boys' High School Boarding Hostel. The hostel has accommodation for approximately 90 boys, most of whom live in the Southland area and board with us either part-time or full-time. We cater for boys from year 7 to year 13.
