Shugg Residential

The Shugg vertical sliding window system combines clean, elegant vertical lines with a sashless, non projecting design and provides unobstructed access to pathways, decks and gardens. Shugg double sliding windows are perfect for taking advantage of spectacular views but allowing ventilation at the same time.

The minimalist shugg extrusions fit into and compliment most architectural styles. Shuggs can be inserted into aluminium, timber, Smartwood and Alti windows and doors.

Modern design often has full height doors as the only source of ventilation and a popular use of the Shugg system is to insert it into doors. Neotec often suggest the use of a fixed base pane of 125mm to cover the bottom opening and allow top level only ventilation. Where the bottom pane is fixed, the top pane can slide down to provide a full top opening slider.

The window can also be locked in a variety of open and closed positions

The single slider provides for pass through windows - ideal around the kitchen and dining area.

Shugg Commercial

Shugg Cafe windows are widely used within the commercial sector. The double slider can be inserted into windows and doors as per the residential installations.

It is in the use of the single slider that the Shugg slider comes into its own. When the top pane is fixed, the bottom pane slides upwards to provide a perfect pass through opening for cafes, money exchanges, drive-ins and internal windows for hospitals, schools and a variety of commercial situations

Architects and designers have also used the Shugg sliding system to open kitchen serveries, to lift whiteboards, as part of office fitouts to hide product, within shopfit outs to secure product, in acoustic windows to provide access, in boats and in fact, anywhere there is a need to elevate glass (or timber) to gain access.

The large cafe windows seen on many Auckland street cafes provide access between the inside and the outside. without intruding on tight commercially expensive spaces. These window provide a light filled space that has the feeling of the outside but it still able to protect from the vagaries of the weather.

Shugg Institutional

Shugg Sliders are perfect for those situations where safety, ventilation and flexibility are required. Double sliders can be installed into all brands of windows and doors. This system is able to be used to solve many an access and ventilation problem. It is ideal for fitouts and revamps as in many cases, existing frames can be utilised and the Shugg used as an insert.

Shuggs are generally installed with 6mm glass, but with correct engineering, and dependent on the frame it is being installed into, can take a variety of glass thickness or timber or laminate boards.

The Shugg system is ideal for the ticket box, pass through hatches and cafe windows.


Shugg Educational

Shugg Vertical Sliding window systems are selected for use in schools because of their ease of operation, especially where wide wall benches restrict the ability of pupils to operate conventional sashes.

Safety is a key consideration in the school environment. Projecting sashes are a danger to active children - so the shugg vertical sashes are ideal. The Shugg system is often used adjacent to busy walkways to increase the safety to pedestrians.

An important consideration to designers is the amount of daylight that is allowed in when transoms and sash rails are eliminated. In addition, the ability of windows to remain open and yet not interfere with black out curtains is often an important design request from teachers.

The ventilation area at the top and bottom of each frame assists the passive ventilation of the rooms often eliminating the need for high level ventilating systems. When used with toughened safety glass, the shugg window provides a safe and durable system is buildings traditionally subject to hard use. The Shugg system is often used adjacent to busy walkways and playgrounds.

The educational sector has been Neotec's key area of growth. In addition to the double slider window, the internal single slider is often specified in the reception and library. Sliding whiteboards are installed in conjunction with Richard James Ltd.
