On 1st June 1996 MSC Australia opened its first New Zealand office in Auckland with a team of three staff and some 15 months later opened a one man office in Christchurch. MSC has grown and progressed rapidly since the introduction of our first vessel "MSC New Zealand" in late 1999 to link the ports of Auckland and Lyttelton with the global service operating ex Australia
Since year 2000 staff numbers have built up steadily with the relocation of National office to Christchurch and the development of two operating regions, Northern and Southern together with the staffing of offices in Tauranga and Wellington. Service enhancements have continued since this time with MSC now providing Importers and Exporters three separate weekly shipping options to and from New Zealand.
MSCA New Zealand operate a centrally controlled National Documentation Division from Christchurch as well as National Operations and Container Control divisions. Regional office staff in each Island are responsible for client services, imports, exports, sales, ship's husbandry, day to day operations and logistic activities at our designated port calls.
MSC services key strategic hub ports globally and continue to invest in the management and ownership of terminals and depots.
Container volumes carried to and from New Zealand are tracking positively year on year and New Zealand staff have developed a respected track record for dependability and operating and working towards clear company objectives.
MSCA New Zealand office requirements have grown to meet the demands of MSC's ever expanding services throughout New Zealand. The National and Southern Regional staff moved into new premises - MSC House at 92 Lichfield St. Christchurch on 9th November 2007 which was an exciting day in our Company's brief New Zealand history
