A taste of Sydney comes to Auckland - the legendary Australian gourmet food store, jones the grocer, is opening it's first New Zealand store in the heart of Newmarket in a purpose built stylish location at 143 Carlton Gore Road.

jones the grocer is well known to many Aucklanders for it's cosmopolitan atmosphere and magnificent array of gourmet food. Just like in Sydney, the Newmarket shelves will be laden with jones' own unique products as well as boutique foods from around New Zealand and Australia. From preserves to pickles, oils to orecchiette pasta, rocky road, rock candy, it will all be there to succumb to.

The store will feature the infamous fromagerie (walk-in cheese room) which is a hallmark of any jones the grocer store. Customers will be able to choose from an array of local and international cheeses, including cheddars aged onsite, all personally chosen by jones' fromagier, also on hand to advise cheese lovers.

A fabulous long wooden table will take pride of place in the store, where customers can order a delicious breakfast, lunch or a light snack and soak up the atmosphere. Customers can have a glass of wine, share a tasting plate of cheese, an antipasti platter or indulge in some home-made baking to have with coffee. There is a Kid's Menu and buggy park, making jones the grocer very family-friendly.

All the sumptuous fresh food is made on the premises, the bakery ovens work all day and mouth-watering salads, cold meats and deli items are available for take-out and eat-in dining. It is the perfect place to stock up for summer picnics and entertaining, pick up a loaf of artisan bread or put together an antipasti platter. The jones kitchen provides a catering service as well.

jones the grocer are famous for their lavish, indulgent and over-stuffed gourmet food hampers. There are seven different kinds, ranging from the large Working or Family Hampers through to the Coffee or Cheese Hamper. They'll make great Christmas gifts this year.
