15th April 2014 DO NOT USE AUCKLAND WATCH COMPANY.
I took my watch into Auckland Watch Company on 6/8/2013. After months of calling and listening to every excuse in the book, they finally told me it was ready for pick up on 15/4/2014.
That's 8 months.
Now this would be understandable if the watch was completely smashed and was in need of serious repair, but it wasn't. All that was required was a replacement of a lost metal pin and two screws to hold the strap onto the watch. Understandably, this part had to be sourced from overseas, but no way should it take that long.
Also, the price I was quoted ($40), nearly doubled in the 8 months I was waiting for it to be repaired to $75. (I'm guessing they put this down to inflation....)
On a more positive note it was nice of them to not charge a fitting fee for the 1 minute it took them to put the pin in the watch. I'm guessing this hefty saving considering they told me I could put it back together if it falls apart again.
Please heed my advice and go elsewhere for your watch repairs. I know the location is convenient being in the centre of town, but the 10 minutes you save by going there won't save you the annoyance of dealing with these guys and having to wait months for your watch to be repaired.
Finally, I'm very much hoping they decide to respond to this comment as there is literally no excuse they could potentially conjure up that would make my comments invalid.

1st June 2012 My watch stopped so went in and the lady told me to leave it with her. I specifically asked her how much that would be as I still had the warantee that came with it and she said it may need a new movement which would cost around $100 - mentioning nothing about the inspection fee at all.
Next day I got a call from the lady that the watch needs a new movement and I told her I would just come and pick up the watch and only then she told me it was $20 of her time. I reminded (gently and politely) her that when I asked her she didn't mention that at all and she couldn't say anything back then another guy got on the phone yelling at me "we don't work for free!" then hung up.
I found them1) very misleading and decieving that she didn't acknowledge the fact that I would be charged for the inspection although I specifically asked about it - while I don't expect them to work for free I expect them to be upfront with their charges; and 2) down right rude and condescending - when you make a mistake and mislead a customer you apologize, not yelling and hanging up on the customer.
This place may be the only place in the Central Auckland that provides this type of trades, and I do find their location very convanient but don't think this is a kind of service that I would like to any of my money on.

7th June 2011 Be very sure what service you are paying for if coming here for repairs. I left my watch to be fixed (loose hand that worked on and off depending on the angle you held it) and was told it could certainly be repaired. When I picked it up the next day (I had to call THEM to find out it was ready to be picked up) it looked like it was working and paid the $20 repair fee. Later that day the watch broke so it was back to how it was originally. I took it back to them the next day and they said that sometimes they just have to try to see what works but that it couldn't be fixed. For me as the consumer, it doesn't look like they did anything to my watch. I'm out of pocket by $20 and still have a broken watch. Disappointed.

1st June 2012 We are sorry your watch could not be fixed.
We have to deal with hundreds of unknown brands of watches from unknown manufacturers these days, and what looks like a simple repair can become a harder issue for us to fix.
We are a repair service and we make our income for charging you for our time attempting to repair watches.
However occasionally something can’t always be repaired, usually when parts aren’t available.
We still spend time trying to fix it for you, which we have to charge something to cover the time spent and $20 may have covered only part of the time we spent on your watch.
I'm sure in more than 99 % of the time we succeed in completing a repair.
