29th January 2008 The Great Escape is a super holiday home. It is very comfortable for a large family group - there were 7 of us, all adult size, and we fitted in very well. Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms and a bathroom and downstairs a double bed is in the lounge but there is plenty of living area as well as that very usable lounge with a kitchen, spacious dining room, plus another lounge area. And the back garden is huge and there are extensive deck areas.
It is well situated geographically - 4.5km from SH12 on the west side and 6km to the main road on the east side. Which means you are between the Kauri forests on one side and the interesting Hokianga Harbour on the other - with all its attractions. Plus it is next door to a great Puzzle Shop!

10-15 min drive to the mysterious Waipoua Kaurie Forest
10-15 min to small townships of Omapere/Opononi with boat ramps, hotels, shops, restaurants.
10-15 min drive to the rugged, windswept Waimamaku beach which faces the unpredictable Tasman Sea.
