Holy Trinity is the Cathedral of the Auckland Anglican Diocese. Standing high on a ridge in Parnell, Auckland, overlooking the Waitemata Harbour, the Cathedral is in a magnificent setting of huge oak trees planted in 1843 when the land was bought for the purpose.
Alongside the Cathedral is beautiful and historic St Mary's Church, completed in 1897, and the most popular venue for weddings in Auckland.
The Cathedral is unique, being of two different styles, a Gothic chancel and a distinctively New Zealand nave.
Designed as a community facility in the style of old cathedrals, but in modern context, we offer worship services throughout the week as well as providing a venue for the Arts and community events. The Auckland Philharmonia and other smaller orchestras play here frequently. We hosted the Rose Society competition, art displays and competitions, drama productions, pop concerts, debates, public lectures, and a host of similar events. Depending on the requirements of the event the nave can seat up to 1,150 people.
An attached room, the Monteith Visitors' Centre, is available for small receptions and for serving refreshments during intervals. Our car park can take more than 150 vehicles, and fees are very reasonable, and monthly parking is available. A small number of car park spaces for people displaying Disability Cards are located beside the main entrance in Parnell Road.
The Cathedral also manages tiny and historic St Stephen's Chapel, Judge St, Parnell, built in 1857. Still used for weekly worship, it is also a popular venue for intimate weddings.
We welcome all enquiries. Our Events Manager will be happy to discuss your requirements with you, and to give you a quotation without obligation.
