15th October 2018 As I have to travel for work I have caught taxis from Christchurch airport to my house and have never paid more than NZ$ 29.00.
Yesterday I caught a Mainland Taxi for the first time and it cost me $40
I got charged a $11.00 airport toll fee
Normally this fee is like $5
NEVER take Mainland taxi
Go for First Direct or any other company
These guys will rip you off

13th January 2015 Took a short fare to the airport. Was $8 more than Christchurch cabs charges me on same route last time. Then the driver took off wuth my change!
We dont do that in NZ... Hello.
Will never take Mainland Taxi again or Bluestar who they operate under. NO WAY!

11th July 2013 Taxi driver Driving 125+ km in 100km zone, then 75km upin 50kms zone, swerving erratically in straight line and cornering.
Quite scary being a customer in a taxi.
NEVER USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!

31st May 2013 I travel quite regularly and yesterday had taken this taxi from Chirstchurch Airport to a location which was approximately 3.5 km away. It costed me a total of $24.25, which was made of $11 Airport fees. The driver said that I will have to shell out $3 more for paying by credit card and I then decided to pay in cash.
In return I was given a hand-written receipt which does not even have a receipt number. The driver said they don't provide receipts with printed numbers.
I travel regularly in NZ and considering the fact other taxi companies charges much lower airport fees (between $7 to $8), I would say that this is the most expensive taxi company in New Zealand. A complete rip-off with poor service standards. Will never take hire from Mainland taxi company again.

25th April 2013 My taxi driver seemed nice enough until he started talking about a person who he had driven before being a "homo" and makes many homophobic remarks. Very disgusting and totally unprofessional. Will not be using this company again.

4th February 2013 I have caught taxis many times from Christchurch airport to my friends house and have never paid more than NZ$ 15.00. Last week I caught a Mainland Taxi for the first time and it cost me $37.70!!!! On arrival at my destination, the metre showed $21.30 then suddenly it jumped to $37.70! When I queried it he said there was an $11.00 airport toll fee. I've just checked another website and the toll fee is advertised as $8.00. I was so angry that I didn't even check the calculations. Only later did I realise he overcharged me as well! $21.30 + 11.00 = $33.30 and he charged me 37.70. If I am ever faced with choice of a Mainland taxi I'll dodge it like a bullet!!

1st December 2012 i agree with 23rd June 2008 and 19th June 2008. Utterly stone-age and incapable of speaking, in addition to the points raised by these authors.
Rating 2 of 5. Only cos they pulled over.
The complete lack of verbal response when I was annoyed as to lack of eftpos (it being post-1996) was incredibly unusual and unprofessional.

23rd June 2008 this taxi company lets its drivers take advantage of young girls.All I can say is if i was looking for a taxi company and this was the only one i could find i would walk.

19th June 2008 truely the worst taxi company i have been on. my taxi driver was so innopropriate to the point where i notified the police. i strongly advise people to avoid this taxi company as i feel they did not take my complaint seriously at all.
