15th November 2013 My wife and I have been enjoying Indian Cuisine worldwide for the past 40 odd years... In Europe, the USA and now in NZ we have seen (and sometimes ate, unfortunately!!) some good and bad stuff as you can imagine...!!!
Kumar's might not look like some of the luxurious eating venues, with crimson velvet wallpaper and antique lighting, we have visited but WHO CARES...!!! The food is what it is all about, and it certainly is something special at Kumar's.
We have visited Kumar's regularly over the past 8 years as well as eating in numerous other Indian restaurants during our travels, and we always compare them with Santosh and Bindhu's cuisine...
This is the standard they all have to measure to... and very few manage to even approach their level..!!
We have tried the whole menu by now but of course, we have our favourites:
Their prawn or chicken pakoras which always come with a variety of chutneys and sauces to surprise us.
Their Lamb Saag or Rogan Josh, Beef Madras or Prawn Masala are always cooked to our heat strength (mild to medium), as for the creme brulee Indian style... Out of this world..!!!
Sadly, we live some 45km away and cannot visit as often as we would like but when we do, it is always a treat.
We are a must try in Paeroa for a unique and special dining experience! Come in for lunch or dinner and sample our mouth-watering menu of exotic Indian food. We are fully licensed and cater to a range of dietary needs.
