4th March 2015 BEWARE: I had taken my car (BMW 650i) with a problem with the drive shaft being put into reverse too harshly, it was recommended to have the drive software upgrade which I duly did....solved the reverse problem but boy did I get some major drive and engine management problems following this upgrade.
To cut a long story short I ended up having parts replaced but not solving the issue with Bellars before resorting to taking the car to BMW to rebuild my software from scratch at some cost, not to mention the hassle and time taken to do this as it's not straight forward.
I discovered later that the Autologic Diagnostic system they use for any software is not current BMW authorised software, but through a third party based in the UK. BMW do not warrant this software in any way, you can only get genuine software through a dealership. I was not told this prior to the upgrade!!
The receptionist is extremely patronising, rude, unhelpful and generally lacking in customer service if you have any issues with work carried out by them.
You can make your own mind up whether you risk damaging your car and greater expense and inconvenience by going to Bellars? And the attitude of course if things do go wrong!!!
