2nd April 2014 We have had takeaway pizzas from Athenia in Rome a couple of times before and they are pretty good, so thought we would try eating in today. My husband ordered a medium rare eye fillet which came out very thin, blue, and not looking anything like eye fillet. It was tasteless and unseasoned, and served with dry, unseasoned mashed potato and very basic vegetables. The chef was unaccommodating with our requests prior to ordering, and did not deliver as per our order. When it came time to pay the owner stood behind the poor waitress, watching her like a hawk. He didn't even acknowledge us at the counter, but made his frustration with the waitress very obvious. We told him our experience of the meals and he argued. We won't be going back.

23rd October 2011 This could be the worst place I ever been to. I bought the coupon online, and I expected the service would not be as good, but I didn't expect it would be that bad.
First of all, their phone booking system was a failure. So, I left a message and provided my mobile. And, the owner rang me 3 times, but I couldn't answer as I was in an hour appointment with my physician. Instead of leaving a message, he called my land line number and basically yelled at my landlord... saying how he called a million times and I didn't answer. Oh well, frankly my landlord wouldn't care just like any other normal person.
Still, I've decided to try it out since my friends and I had an appointment at Milford that afternoon anyway. This was a dumb decision. The service was plain bad. There was no greetings what so ever. And, the guys served us was rude and impatient. He not only seemed that he didn't want to be there, but also rushed us to order. The drinks was just as bad. And finally when the food turned up... I just promised my friends I'd make it up to them next time. I have to say the pastas were the worst I've ever had. The sauce were exact the same, even though we ordered different kinds. The noodles itself is supermarket quality. And, the size was smaller some kids meals. The vegetable weren't even fresh. The taste was not good too... we didn't finish despite the fact that the portion of the food were really small. It was a total disappointment even tho I didn't expect much at all.
It confuses me that their rating is high on this site, but if you go to some other sites, there are more reviews that make more sense to me, as well as being closer to the experience my friends and I had encountered.

17th July 2011 FAN-TAS-TIC. From even 'before' you walk in the door you are treated like Royalty. The staff are extremely welcoming, happy to see you, attentive. The food is excellent. We had a party of 22 and most of us had something different and every single meal was enjoyed. They have a huge menu of pastas, pizzas, steak, chicken, fish. You name it, it's on the menu. Something for everyone. The flavours are divine. The prices are very reasonable. The service was so great I can't wait to go back again. I grabbed a handful of business cards to hand out. It's an A+++ from me

7th July 2011 We were a party of nine last night. The restaurant was near enough to full when we arrived. I have to say this restaurant is fantastic .camper to B.Y.O locally restaurant, The meal I had was one of the best meals I have has in a restaurant in a long time. The service was excellent. The prices, given the high quality of the food, were more than reasonable for B.Y.O restaurant.
We would recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking great food, ambience and service. We have eaten here over the years. also the owners little baby is so quite and smiley and make us very happy.

6th July 2011 Went here last night. was very pleasantly surprised. I had the fillet which was absolutely brilliant and my partner had the scallopini marsala and she loved them. Trimisu cake was perfect. Definitely will be returning! Great atmosphere too.

27th June 2011 My partner and I went here a couple of weeks ago as we live near here and thought we'd try somewhere local. I have to say I was a little let down. The food was okay, nothing spectacular (I have to say I could probably do the same in my own kitchen at home). The service well that was something that needed a lot of work. The two waitresses that were working there. One looked like she was about 12 the other barely 17 years old. and the 12year must have been training as she was following the 17yr old around like a little lost puppy not even doing anything. We got our entree and it was a little dry (we got the garlic bread) and then the mains. As I said before they were average and something I could easily do at home. We also noticed that when we were at the restaurant there was another couple there. We're not really sure what happened but soon after they got their entree they just got up and left the table without even touching the drinks they ordered or the entree. and reading most of the other reviews on this there seems to be a lot of problems with the service. One other thing we noticed is that we left and were paying there was a lady with a baby in the corner (we think she was the owners/chefs wife and she wasn't with anyone else or eating but she was talking with the staff), which is nothing bad...but what was bad is the smell that was coming from the baby...lets just say it smelt like it needed to be changed (an hour ago) it was disgusting

10th September 2010 Good food and excellent selection of pizza, pasta and entrees.
Good service and the prices are reasonable.
Good place for group gatherings.
This place is my family's favourite, the food is delicious and the owners treat everyone like old friends!
