Pimentos is a seafood restaurant in Taupo. It serves Kiwi cuisine with a twist.
Sample entrees include chilled smoked salmon with layered filo wafers, or garlic marinated calamari on a prawn risotto, or field mushroom and blue cheese soup.
Pimentos main menu features some excellent meats with a range of accompaniments, prepared in various ways. It includes scotch fillet with roasted gourmet potatoes, honey soy lamb shank on kumara whip and orange and fennel galazed pork loin. Main meals are priced at $28 to $30.
Dessert lovers are also spoilt for choice at PImentos. You can choose from creme brulee. licorice parfait, sticky date pudding, chocolate tart and chocolate and vanilla icecream. All desserts are priced at $12.50.
Pimentos is fully licensed and offers BYO. It has seating for around 55 patrons and free parking is available outside.

My partner and I went on a sunday evening and it was moderately busy, with a pleasant enough decor but not amazing.
The service throughout the whole night was great, without being intrusive.
It took a little bit longer than expected for our entree's to arrive, but when they did they were wonderful! My pate was one of the best ever and her coconuty chicken dish was very good.
For mains my dukkah crusted chicken was delicious, with warm nutty flavours through the dish. My partner's steak was very well prepared, flavourful but tender. The accompanying gravy was wonderful, with just enough of the underlying blue cheese to make it stand out.
No deserts this trip, though we were tempted given the quality of the rest of the food.
One nice touch was the prices- the same for all entrees, all mains, and all deserts. Made working out the bill easy!
Despite the $20 corkage, I still left a tip for the chefs and another for the waiting staff.
I would recommend.
