1st December 2010 I find the staff and the team here to always be awesome, ive never eve found the toilets to be filthy... Id say that your expereinces were probably single occassions and not the norm for Royal Oak Maccas

21st October 2010 Both partner and I had visited this restaurant for a meal this evening, I had ordered a Quarter pounder burger on its own which would have been my first time trying this burger. I had taken the onions out of the burger and my partner had discovered that there was a long piece of someones hair at the bottom of the burger just under the meat pattie. Being so disgusted I almost vomitted, having found this I approached the duty manager and advised him that I had found a piece of hair, his response was the guys do not have long hair at the back and replaced my burger, there was no compensation, I didn't care whether or not they had long hair, my main concern was that there shouldn't have been a hair in my burger full stop!!!! Having spoken to my family who also visited this very same restaurant that same night had used the toilet facility only to find that it was filthy, dirty, un-hygenic and disgusting!! I do not recommend anyone going to this restaurant, the lack of hygiene standards!!!! I'd be surprised that this restaurant doesn't have the health inspector visiting them anytime soon..

6th September 2010 what ever you do, do NOT book a childs bday party here. it has been the WORSE maccas experience ever in my life. my daughter had her 1st bday party here and i wish i had never bothered. the staff were not organised, they werent child friendly, they had no idea what they were doing. they put the so called party area right by the men toilets, their idea of part decorations were an activity sheet, a colourful plate each and a small happy birthday sign on the window which was cellotaped together to keep it together. the meal ordering was a shambles, asking children from ages 3-14 what they wanted to eat giving them no set choices and allowing them order anythng and everything despite ME being the paying parent and have had made prior menu arrangements on the phone when making my booking. the hostess appeared twice maybe and never came back to do the face painting and game playing as she said there would be. after two hours the kids were getting tired, bored and ratty and their parents who were also very bored from having to STAND for the afternoon, were getting their kids ready to go home. we were put in this tiny area amoung the public, we had no where as parents to sit and talk over a coffee or lunch. the store manager was not interested in our complaints and kept sending a girl up to do his dirty work, she was merely JUST a staff member and in my opinion, not hostess material. we were not made aware that our hostess ''had to do something else'' and we were not offered a replacement hostess. the playground was from what i heard from other parents, the filthiest playground they had ever seen and the health department would be interested in viewing it, and seeing as it was upstairs in a seperate room, there was no ventilation and the sun was beaming through the huge glass windows, making all the kids sweaty and smelly on top of picking up whatever germs they got from the equipment.
absolutely THE worse party experience ive ever had and same with my guests who some travelled from out of auckland for this party. i and some of my guests have made complaints to head office and we are waiting for an outcome.
pity the store manager couldnt find it in himself to genuinely apologise and want to make the day a better experience, we all felt as though he didnt give the complaints any serious thought. we did however ONLY pay for the food ordered and no any of the party side of it, as there was NO party to speak of.
thanks royal oak for creating such horrible memories for myself, my partner and friends and family for her FIRST bday.
