30th January 2010 The best restaurant in Orewa in my opinion. I have been there oodles of times and particularly at lunchtime it has good options for Japanese first timers, its not all sushi and sushimi. You always are made to feel that you are special and your custom is appreciated. Always consistently top food and service. Try the chicken lunchbox. Its excellent value and great if you are a big eater.

24th July 2009 I have been to many Japanese Restaurants including in Japan and this one is one of the best. The Menu is fantastic and there is also Beef Tataki and Sashimi. I always eat Sashimi and I know that this Sashimi is good!! The chef is also a real Japanese chef. If you go to Orewa, you should go to visit this restaurant and ask for some sake too!!

11th January 2009 i went there with some of my friends for dinner because all other restaurants were close, that was probably tghe reason we went there because i used to work in orewa and people said hayami food is realy expensive and doesnt taste that great. and i have to agree with it. there sashimi and sushi werent fresh and it was way to small for the price. it costs us around $150 for dinner for 4. i wouldnt recommand this restaurant to anyone i know.
