We had one day in Auckland after getting off our cruise ship. We were tired and were looking for a restaurant for dinner near our hotel. We walked about a block and came across DaVinci's. The menu looked interesting so we decided to try it and are we glad we did. We had the best meal, reasonably priced and excellent service. Their chicken liver appetizer is to die for. I have tried to replicate it since we got home but with no success. Highly recommend DaVinci's. It was a lovely experience.

This was my third day in Auckland. I had eaten in the same restaurant for the first two days. It was OK. I decided to walk up the hill from my hotel and there was Da Vinci's. As I love Italian food, I decided to try it. It was a slow Monday night, but the employees treated a lone American woman as If I were a celebrity.I Chose the Spaghetti and Clams, and I wasn't disappointed. The serving was just the right size and I enjoyed the wonderful tiramasu for dessert. The Rose wine was perfect and I wish I could buy it in the US. Thank you for a lovely evening. After being fed up with those pretentious, arty & pricey fine dining restaurants, we came to DaVinci for a proper meal. This is exactly what we want - a solid and wonderful dining experience with great value. The wine list is an exciting bonus for our meal- extensive selection and many by the glass. Friendly service. Don't miss the Tiramisu, the best I have ever tried. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Overall a satisfying visit. We visited at about 6pm on a Saturday, so at the start of their dinner service. For mains, we got the spaghetti & meatballs and the chicken parmigiana. The spaghetti & meatballs were very good, tender meat with fresh pasta and a nice sauce. The chicken parmigiana was a solid portion (good sized piece of chicken!) and was well cooked (tender!). In fairness, the mains were pretty 'safe' (didn't blow us away), but were well cooked, good portion sizes and overall we were satisfied. The desserts were all good. We got the orange creme caramel and the house gelato. Orange was an interesting combo for the creme caramel; not sure if I would get this again but it was certainly interesting. The gelato had well sized and was very tasty (recommended!). Drinks wise, we got the house red (a chianti) and some lemon/lime bitters. The house red was a nice match to our mains. We had however had better LLBs at other restaurants. The service was very efficient and the staff were very friendly and approachable. Food was delivered in a good time frame with both meals at the same time. Also a nice touch that all the staff we dealt with were European - important for an Italian restaurant! We made a few special requests prior to coming (like reserve seating for our table for two), which they were very approachable about and delivered well. Overall, we were satisfied with our visit. Whilst it didn't blow us away, the food was nice and the service was above average. We'd recommend Da Vincis to other diners seeking a solid Italian meal.

Great food and friendly environment. The staff were very patient while we pondered the bill, were happy to allow us to share entrees and mains and then split the bill. The food was fresh and tasty. Service friendly and prompt. Extremely good value for money! Thank you.

I have been here a number of times and have always been plesantly greeted by the staff. I have always found the food up to an impeccable standard. Love the Quattro pizza :) Highly recommend to all!

I have been to this restaurant once with my friends and I have to say this restaurant serves absolutely delicious and scrumptious food that will make your taste buds and mouth to water. The service that we get from the staff is just so incredible and amazing because of the way they treat you. You even feel that you belong over there as if it's your own home. Also the atmosphere in this restaurant is very warm and cosy. If you live close to this restaurant, you should consider giving this restaurant a try. Highly recommended to everyone. You will love everything in this restaurant that you will want to come back again and again.

Marvellous! The food was great, atmosphere good, and service outstanding - the chef made Canolli especially for me. The ONLY Italian restaurant I could find to do so.

great food at value prices. friendly staff, overnight parking and byo. allowed us to take our dishes one by one, meaning the two of us could share, tapas style throughout the night. hard to beat for a spot of Italian.

My brother took me here when I first came to Auckland. Love the food - great choices. They do Italian very well and you'll leave with your palate and appetite satisfied.

This cosy place is ideal for relaxed fun night out with friends and family. I quite like how the dining area is divided up cleverly into different sections. Reasonably priced Italian place with personal service.

What a fantastic restaurant! We 5 people ended up ate in Da Vinci three nights during our one-week visit in Auckland. We all agree this is the best food and price compared to some very good Auckland restaurants we ate. The spaghetti Meatballs were most impressive with the fresh, juicy, yummy taste. And the pizzas even taste better than what we had in Italy last year. Service was also friendly and efficient, both girls were very cheerful. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the home-style cooking and ambiance!

VERY DISAPPOINTING! My wife and I shared an excellent entrée of big, juicy garlic prawns. The sauce was divine. The wine (a bottle of Dog Point Sav-blanc) was lovely and the service was friendly, efficient and prompt. But we were both VERY disappointed with our mains! My Spaghetti al Vongole was so over-spiced with hot chili that there was no way I could taste the clams. And my wife's Spaghetti Bolognese was a disgrace. I tried a couple of mouthsful and found it mediocre and lacking in any character. But my wife's palate is far more developed than mine and her comment says it all, "If I wanted Dolmio I'd buy it at a supermarket." It was if the chef had dumped some mince in a saucepan full of a pre-prepared, bulk commercial sauce and smothered the pasta with it. To Da Vinci's credit, however, the deserts were very good - although I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't prepared elsewhere and brought in. At $144.10 I can't say it was overpriced, but I'd much prefer to pay more for better Italian food. There is no way we'd ever eat there again.

Fantastic food, great staff, relaxed family atmosphere. We had a great night for my aunties 50th birthday dinner...the whole restaurant joined in singing happy birthday in numerous languages...it was great!! Will definitely be back :-)
