23rd June 2013 I have to agree with the others who have had poor customer service from Quality Car Rental. We rented an old Japanese car from them during the Christmas Holiday in December 2012, unfortunately having no other options for a long, North and South Island car rental during the holiday period. Their staff member reviewed the vehicle and we said that the tread on the wheels of the car appeared to be low, but she insisted it was fine. Halfway through our trip, one of the tires blew and made a loud clanging noise for the next few hours as we had to drive into Christchurch to get it repaired. This could have been very dangerous if the tire had completely blown. The metal threads on the inside of the tire were exposed and could have led to loss of control of the tire. The company obviously does not take maintenance seriously. When we called their staff member, she gave no apology nor offer of any money back.
