14th July 2010 Le Plonk is a great little wine bar in town. Actually, it's not that little with plenty of space and lots of nooks and crannies so it still feels intimate. I like the leather couches near the fireplace.
The wine selection by the glass is huge. I didn't spend any time looking at the bottle selection but I did see pages and pages so I'm guessing the choice there is just as big.
For relaxed sophistication you can't go past Le plonk on Manchester Street. Head in after work or for a night out and sink into a sofa and sample from their extensive wine list or get fired-up with an early-evening cocktail.
The surroundings are classy and comfortable, perfect to impress visitors or to enjoy with friends. Wine tastings, live jazz and a delicious selection of finger foods combine to make this a truly enticing evening destination, a great place to start the evening or finish-off with a night cap.
