Gusto is Petone's neighbourhood bistro located on the corner of Jackson and Queen streets in a beautifully renovated 1930s art deco building.
Our menu is modern pan-European, serving gutsy food and tasty wine in a warm vibrant atmosphere. Our meats and eggs are free-range, our fish is sustainably caught from day boats.
A comprehensive wine list is available along with a handsome array of craft beers and an ever expanding list of sherries.
Lower Hutt's first and only ~Cuisine NZ Restaurant of the Year~ finalist 2010.

4th March 2012 We went to Gusto Bistro last night with two other couples. An amazing meal, service and wine. The desserts were to die for. The food was presented so beautifully. The service was great, very friendly. We would certainly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back. Not too expensive.

4th November 2010 For a night out to remember, you can't go past the decor and fine quality food from Gusto, in Petone.
The restaurant used to be a bank building in a former life, so inside the layout is quite quirky, but comfortable.
For my starter I had the french onion soup, which was lovely and rich, with a full flavour. It was a simple soup, but one that I wouldn't make at home, and the flavours were delicious.
For the main course I had the beef fillet with handcut french fries. I can honestly say this was about the most tender steak I've eaten, and the thick fries were very moreish.
For dessert I opted for a savoury dish ... a goat's cheese from the cheeseboard range. Something different and a nice way to round off an excellent meal.
What surprised me most about Gusto was how reasonable the evening out cost. We paid around $70 each for three courses (including a glass of wine).
Highly recommended when you have a special occassion, or want to impress.
Went out with a friend for lunch and the food was fantastic, great price and service was excellent.
