Martin thoroughly enjoyed his 20 + years as Consultant Plastic surgeon at Middlemore Hospital and 8 years as the NZ Examiner in Plastic & Reconstructive surgery for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is now in full time private practice. He has extensive training and experience in cosmetic plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate and cranio-facial surgery and the treatment of facial and head & neck cancers and facial trauma. With this background and also one in anatomical research he now has a large practice in cosmetic facial surgery being NZ's most experienced cranio-facially trained facelift surgeon.
To compliment facelifting, blepharoplasty (eyelid cosmetic surgery), rhinoplasty (cosmetic & functional nasal surgery), otoplasty (prominent ear correction) and brow-lifts are also performed to a high standard.
Breast reduction, augmentation and reconstruction are available for women and treatment of gynaecomastia ('man-boobs') by lipo-suction or direct excision for men.
Abdominoplasty or 'tummy-tuck' with or without liposuction / liposculpture completes the spectrum of major procedures available. However lipo-sculpture can be performed on any area of the body with excess fat, the new highly selective 'Vaser" ultrasonic liposelective system is producing great results especially in problem areas.
