The search is finally over for everyone who has been looking for that special restaurant that gives them the flavours of Africa with good service and value for money food, within a relaxed and friendly family environment.
The restaurant serves a combination of South African, West African and East African cuisine with lots of truly warm South African hospitality.

Have dined here a few times now. Service is one of the best in Auckland yet. They are very attentive and accommodating of your needs. The food during dinner time was fantastic. Our ribs were tender and sticky. Portion sizes were great! Love how you get bread before your meal starts (miss that while we were travelling in Europe - NZ needs to keep up). Wet towels to clean your hands is a fab idea especially after the ribs. We dined on a Sunday afternoon recently - service was still excellent however quality of the food seemed average the ribs were tough and did not seem fresh. Perhaps a different chef during the day?

Nice family restaurant. The steak and ribs were great but thought the seafood had room for improvement. Price was ok considering the meal portions are large. The staff were fantastic and the hot towel before the meal to wash your hands was excellent, only the second time Ive had this in NZ, cant believe its not the standard.

Had the Rib special on a Thursday night - could not really have more than one plate. Staff were friendly and aimed to make the experience as good as possible. Lovely location, priced ok but more for special occasions - enjoyed it, will go again some time.

Just ate there with my family today (Feb 2010). Food was great - we had grilled calamari, steak, bobotie and the kiddies ribs. The service for a family level restaurant in Kiwiland was second to none. What a way to spend a summer evening: sipping on a beer shandy, looking out over the bay and spending time with the family. The kids are free to move around and have other activities to get involved with, while the adults chat about the day! Great experience and would recommend this to anyone - even if you don't have kids.

dined here with friends. there is a great family atmosphere. they have a kiddies room where parents can leave their kids and enjoy time off. the location is superb with plenty parking. the views are fantastic. the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. the service is friendly and efficient. we ate the ribs, snails, chicken livers and fish curry. make sure you top dinner off with soft ice and waffles. and then a don pedro. this is a south african ice cocktail/long drink and fabulous.

Ate here in early Dec 2009. Excellent service. I thought the prices were very reasonable and the quality of the food really good. We had snails/prawns and a steak and enjoyed all of it. The drinks are a mixture of classic south African and Kiwi. The place reminded me of the Spur but was a bit more personal. Unfortunately it is a bit of a big open space but we were seated near a window and the views were great.I will definitely be back.

The atmosphere and decor are great, the services was great, the food was fantastic, and the view is surreal. My children said the children's room was like being at home-everything kids enjoy. We really enjoyed our visit-brings back many fond memories of SA. Will be back again soon! Thanks Serengeti

Nice restaurant with a nice view. Food was ok, not cheap and a little sugary. The ribs were nice, and there is a nice kids play area. Worth a visit at least once.
