ocated in Herne Bay, Empress Garden Restaurant is a great Chinese restaurant with a great range of Chinese food. Be sure to check out our special pork and duck dishes.
6th February 2012 Wow what an amazing dinner. The Peking duck is to die for, and coming from a non duck lover is truly a high accolade. The service was impeccable, we wanted for nothing. The wine list is brief but does the job and no ridiculously priced like other auckland restaurants. The mains were also gorgous, the best chinese greens with garlic sauce. We highly recommend this restaurant, old world chinese restaurant with modern touches. Enjoy.
Located in Herne Bay, Empress Garden Restaurant has been at the forefront of the Auckland dining scene for many years. Winner of several accolades and awards over the years, it has been consistently delivering its signature dish of Peking Duck to fellow foodies who enjoy biting into the crisp skin and succulent flesh of this dish. Incidentally, it is also one of the few Chinese dining establishments that actually make you feel like you're in Chinatown. With hanging red lanterns adorning the ceiling throughout the restaurant, the dcor is minimalist and clean, with bright bursts of rich red and dark green leading up to the entrance of the villa, adding to the oriental feel of the place. The restaurant is also divided into various sections and rooms, which can make new comers a little disoriented. But treat it as if you're dining at a beloved relatives home, and you'll fit right in!
Empress Garden Restaurant is winner of Best Chinese Restaurant, 2007 Metro.

26th July 2010 Took some friends here for a meal. Nice place with great food and really good prices. 9 of us (3 kids) ate a full meal for less than $50 - can't complain about that!!

13th July 2010 My old time favourite peking duck restaurant! Booking is a must and even if you're not a fan of peking duck, there are huge range of authentic Chinese dishes to choose from!

12th July 2010 Empress Garden has great food, especially if you know what to order. The staff are friendly and the place is well known for the quality of their peking duck. The restaurant is situated in a little house so there are many different eating room areas. Great place to take the family for dinner.

9th September 2009 Went along to Empress Garden last night for a group dinner. Was very quiet, but oh so much fun. The food was great, the menu easy to understand and the staff very friendly.
I was impressed with the speed of service too, the food came out to the table pretty quickly - meaning we could order & enjoy without waiting for ages.
Loved it, thanks Empress Garden
