Thermo Paint Additives is the New Zealand distributor for the hi-tech thermo paint additive, Insuladd.
What is Insuladd?
Insuladd is a high-tech powder additive, that when added to any paint, significantly increases the insulating capacity of the painted surface, and reduces the heating and cooling costs, in both domestic and commercial environments.
It consists of hollow core, ceramic coated microspheres that pull together when paint dries to form a super thin barrier that reduces the transfer of heat through the surface it is applied to.
What does it do?
The Insuladd microspheres do not absorb heat, so any heat reaching an Insuladd painted surface is reflected back to its source.
Does it work?
The product is a result of the advances made by NASA in finding an effective heat repelling shield for their space projects.
In a NASA spin-off partnership with Insuladd, this technology was evolved for commercial insulating applications.
