11th February 2012 Great service and food, we got a a great deal of yazoom and tried it out. loved the design of the place and the view over queen st.
So quite even though downstairs is so loud. amazing would recommend.
23rd April 2012 This place was horrible. They are pretty slow on service, the food took just under an hour to be brought out (there were 10 other people at the restaurant at the time) and the waiter and waitress kept on confusing our orders. The ambiance was nice but not really "Thai".
When paying the bill there was a lot of confusion between staff. They tried to charge one of us $30 for the $10.50 soup got the staff got quite aggressive when we refused and said that was wrong. There was also confusion in regards to the corkage price which was also frustrating.
A very unpleasant experience for a birthday dinner. Thought it was just a bad night for the staff perhaps but after seeing other reviews it could be like this all the time... Would highly recommend anyone not to go there!

19th July 2011 This is the former London Bar which may explain why the decor isn't particularly Thai-inspired. The times I've been there's been virtually no atmosphere as it hasn't been anywhere near full. The food was tasty but purely standard Thai fare. Portions are on the slightly small side though prices seem to reflect that, at about $17 for chicken, beef & pork and $19 for seafood. The wait staff are few in number and seem shy and lacking in personality. I am not sure if this is ddue to not speaking English well or the way they've been trained, but it can come across as indifference. Service was adequate, a tad slow to return for orders, but I haven't personally experienced any mix ups or serious delays. Overall, Bangkok isn't my first choice of Thai restaurant, mainly because traditional Thai food tends to be quite generic, so I look for something in the decor/environment and/or the service to differentiate a place from others. This place doesn't stand out in either of those ways, and also lacks atmosphere and presence (access is via a hard to see/find door next to a dodgy looking bar). For these reasons, I actually wouldn't be surprised if it closes within a year and personally, I'd love to see a decent pub and live music venue re-open again in its place.

16th May 2011 Not an ideal place for a large group.
We had about 13 people. Service was ok... but one order taken down incorrectly. Prices ok, but was severely disappointed with the price vs portion size of the deep fried banana. It was a half a banana and a single scoop of ice cream for $10.50 - what a rip off! I wasn't aware there was a banana shortage in Auckland - only real reason they could be forgiven for the bad value for money.
We also thought we'd make it a lil easier on them at the end of the night when it came time to pay (we had already checked it was ok to split the bill), by not crowding the bar area, and going up one by one. Apparently not... The guy wasn't crossing off what had been paid and his maths was debateable. When we all went to leave, he tried to tell us we hadn't paid for about 5 items! No system in place to deal with split bills at all. After a bit of argueing we left, but not before he blamed us for the confusion.

20th February 2011 This was the absolute worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. My booking was for 25 people at 8.30pm and we didn't get served until 9.30pm after my pestering 3 different waiters and waitresses about 4 or 5 times that we were ready to be served. (I suggest serving people when the whole table has arrived or when they've asked for service!)
The food then proceeded to take another hour to come out and even then - The meals didn't come out at the same time and some people missed out on their meals, It was awkward because as some people were finishing their meals, other people were just receiving theirs or were still waiting. Some people got past the point of being hungry and just cancelled their meals. Waiting beyond an hour for your food is ridiculous.
We complained about the horrible service and still no apology, if anything we got argument from the person serving us. On top of that, as it was a BYO restaurant we all brought our bottles of wine.. CORKAGE WAS $7!! (I can accept up to $4 for corkage like most other BYO restaurants but $7 is outrageous) Rice is also a further $3per person on top of your meals so there is no chance you would ever get an under $20 meal at this place. The Pad Thai I had was OK but - it is definitely not worth the pain of going through the bad service and waiting such a long time for your meal. I will never be returning again and neither will my 24 other guests.

15th December 2010 BAD food. WORSE service. OVER-PRICED!!
We sat down at our table and when the waiter came over, he only took 1 person's drinks order! Who does that?! We had to ask the waiter to come back 3 times to make sure the whole table got drinks. He seriously did not understand that everyone wanted drinks and kept on wandering off.
The food was AWFUL! When we had finished with our meals, no one took our dishes away. When we finally got someone's attention, they only took half the plates away! We then had to call them to come over (again!) to take the rest of the dishes away.
We had ordered the set menu which came with dessert and again, it had to be chased up before anything was done! The waiter that we called over gave us dessert menus and then someone else came over 5 minutes later and took it off us and told us in a rude manner we were not allowed to have those as only ice cream was included in our set menu!! Their wait staff was USELESS!
Never ever going back!

9th September 2010 I went to this restaurant for one of my friend's birthday. The service was great, we were seated well, continuously served with drinks and the waitresses were very friendly and helpful even help us get ready all the stuff to cut the cake. Prices are reasonable and even better if you use your entertainment book with it. Food taste great and rice is charged per person (as to per plate in some place). Servings are reasonable. Overall a good experience.
